Primary Functions

The two primary functions of the Remodelers Council are to:

  • Provide educational programs for the purpose of improving the professionalism of home remodeling contractors in Long Beach CA and the surrounding area
  • Provide helpful information to homeowners on how to select a competent home remodeling contractor

Membership Standards

Membership in the Remodelers Council is limited to general contractors (and associates) who meet set standards for financial responsibility and technical competence, as well as have a track record of fair dealings with homeowners – such as demonstrated by receiving Angie’s List “Super Service Awards“.

The Remodelers Council is also affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and its NAHB Remodelers Council.

Professional Certifications

Through a curriculum of classes and study, the Remodelers Council encourages members to earn professional designations, such as:

  • Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR)
  • Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS)
  • Certified Green Builder (CGB)

BIASC Remodelers Council Mission

The Remodelers Council’s mission is to:

  • Be a collective voice of the local remodeling industry and participate in the regulatory & legislative process
  • Provide continuing education and information on remodeling industry products, services, and issues
  • To promote professional and ethical standards, as well as a positive image of the remodeling industry
  • Increase the value and quality of the homes of the people the BIASC serves

The Super Service Award is an honor awarded annually to approximately the Top 5 percent of all the companies rated on Angie’s List – the nation’s leading provider of consumer reviews on local service companies.

“It’s a select group of companies rated on Angie’s List that can claim the exemplary customer service record of being a Super Service Award winner,” said Angie’s List Founder Angie Hicks. “Our standards for the Super Service Award are quite high. The fact that Baum Construction and Development earned this recognition four years in a row speaks volumes about its dedication providing great service to its customers.”

To be selected for the Angie’s List Super Service Award, the recipients have had to meet strict eligibility requirements. That includes having to earn a minimum number of reports from Angie’s List subscribers. They also had to have an “Excellent” rating from their clients, and they had to abide by all Angie’s List operational guidelines.

Angie’s List service company ratings are updated on a daily basis. Service companies are graded on an A to F scale in areas ranging from price to professionalism to punctuality. Angie’s List members can find the 2013 Super Service Award logo next to company names in search results on
